This course is held in person at Live Theater in Charlottesville, Virginia.

This course spans tweleve weeks beginning the week of June 15, 2026.

Cohort A meets Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30pm.

Cohort B meets Fridays from 6pm-8pm.

A $300 deposit is made upon enrollment to secure your spot. After that, you will make three payments of $1000. The first installment occurs prior to the first class sessison, the two remaining installments to be paid at the beginning of each subsequent month.

This is a physical class, but not too strenuous. If you are able to take a beginning yoga class, you can easily excel in this class.

Adjustments to exercises can be made to accommodate injuries/ailments/etc.

The Linklater Voice Progression is a voice pedagogy developed by Kristin Linklater. It is based on the premise that:

1. Everyone possesses a voice capable of expressing, through a two to four octave pitch range, whatever gamut of emotion, complexity of mood, and subtlety of thought he or she experiences.

2. The tensions acquired through living in this world, as well as defenses, inhibitions, and negative reactions to environmental influences, often diminish the efficiency of the natural voice to the point of distorted communication

The emphasis of this work is on the removal of blocks that inhibit the human voice.

While it is among the premiere vocal techniques for professional actors, it likewise serves anyone wishing to improve their voice, presence, and public speaking skills.
